Aruba Boat Tour for Kids and Non-Swimmers: The Clear Boat

A lot of Aruba boat trips assume everyone wants to swim, snorkel and spend three hours at sea. That’s a tough sell with a four-year-old or a grandparent who doesn’t swim. The clear boat is one of the few that works for the whole family.
Why it works for kids
- The floor is the show. Kids see fish and maybe turtles without getting in the water.
- It’s short. 1.5 hours, which is about right for attention spans.
- Minimum age is 1.
- Life jackets for everyone.
Good to know before you book
- There are no infant seats, and infants can’t sit on a lap. Every child needs their own spot, so count them when you book.
- The boat isn’t stroller accessible. Leave it in the car.
- It’s not recommended for pregnant travelers or anyone with back problems or a heart condition.
For non-swimmers
You don’t have to get in. The whole point of a clear boat is that you see what the snorkelers see from your seat. If you do want to try, life jackets make floating easy.
Which departure?
For little ones, the 9:00 AM or 11:30 AM slots usually work best: calmer water, and you’re done before afternoon naps. For a family of 8 to 10, look at the $600 private charter so the boat is just yours.
