Best Time of Day for a Clear Boat Tour in Aruba

Updated October 11, 2026 · 1 min read

Guests boarding the clear boat in shallow water

The clear boat leaves four times a day: 9:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM. They’re all good, but they’re not the same.

9:00 AM: calmest water

Aruba’s trade winds usually pick up as the day goes on. The first trip of the day tends to have the flattest water, and flat water means the clearest view through the floor. Best pick for photographers and anyone who gets seasick.

11:30 AM: best light from above

With the sun high, light shines straight down into the water and lights up the reef. Colors look their brightest. It’s also the easiest slot for cruise passengers.

2:00 PM: the relaxed option

Good if you want a slow morning. The water can be a little choppier, but the visibility at these sheltered spots is still good on most days.

4:30 PM: golden hour photos

Softer, warmer light and great photos of the boat itself. A nice way to end a beach day.

Our pick

For the underwater view, go early. For the best photos of your group on the boat, go late. Either way, you can book up to 2 hours before departure.
